3 tips for Local SEO

Starting a business is very difficult one of the hardest things to do is to find a consistent flow of new customers. A great way is to build and optimize your website using Local SEO methods. Tis will help potential customers who are searching for a product or service to easily find your business.

Local SEO is built off the principles as well incorporates several traditional SEO tactics. The basics of SEO are to have relevant content on your website structured in an organized manner for your visitors and for the Search Engines. From there you get yourself known and get others talking about and searching for your website. This simple principle help build your businesses trust and authority online.

Local SEO is going to take this a step further and cater to your specific geography. When someone searches for a product or service online location matters! Many times, our devices know and add our location to our searches. If not, the searcher likely adds a city name to the search term.

This results in a page of results which includes a map listing generally at the top of the page, just under the paid ads. After the map listing comes the organic search results for that location.

Here are 3 tips to get you listed and visible to local searchers:

Google My Business Listing

Local Listing OptimizationThere are numerous local listings you should make sure you are in and to top the charts Is Google My Business. It is simple to setup and verification process. You can get started here Google My Business. This is essential as there are more searchers on Google than any other platform as well google reports a larger percentage of mobile users searching local.

Don’t forget about Bing, that should be there theme song J/K. Bing Places for Business is still a great local listing and Bing receives around 25% of search volume so its worth getting this setup also.

Start by creating and verifying your listing, once its verified you can optimize it focus on your products or services, locations and pictures. Don’t forget to set your hours and contact info.

Most importantly keep your Name, Address & Phone number (NAP) consistent across all your profiles.

Other Local Directories and Social Profiles

Most business owners either do not know or don’t take the time to find and claim their listings online. Its important to create, claim these listings to ensure accuracy and consistency across the internet. Again your NAP is of most importance!

Social profiles help you reach a wider audience across multiple platforms and Engage. Google+,  FaceBook, Pintrest, Twitter, SnapChat are great examples. People on one platform might not be on the others while those on certain platforms might be looking for something specific or visual. While on other platforms they want short and sweet messages.

Its important to have these profiles and to deliver the appropriate message across them. It can seem like a full-time job at times, so I recommend you start with one or two and grow into the others.

Reviews are Proof

Reviews are generally available across social platforms and directories such as Yelp. These reviews serve a huge purpose for the searcher. Just like in the offline world when you are thinking about buying a certain car, you might see someone at the grocery store with that vehicle and ask “hey, how do you like your car?”. Depending on their response it might trigger further curiosity, that’s just like on-line reviews.

Reviews gives proof to searchers online of how your company or product preforms. I know not all reviews are legitimate or fair and there are tactics to deal with that. But overall searchers look at reviews to give that initial go-ahead or move-on response.

Make sure you are asking for reviews and responding to both the positive and negative reviews posted.

We hope these three tips helped get you started on Local SEO. For more information or to consult a professional contact our contributor a Local SEO in Boise Idaho

Starting a Home Service Company

Published by:

Easy Entry and Highly Profitable

A great way to dive into the world of entrepreneurship is to start some kind of a home repair business. It will not cost you a lot of money to start up, and there is a fairly low barrier for entry as well. Based on the fact that you want to start a home repair business, you most likely already possess all of the required skills, or at least enough skills to start working.

When it comes to starting a home repair business, there is one common mistake that people make, and that mistake is that they believe that they have to know how to do everything, as well as have a lot of construction experience. And even though many people believe this, you should not be worried about it at all.

All that you need is the will to help people, the ability to solve common problems with a home, and the ability to use your hands well.

Forming a Strategy

As is the case with any other kind of business, it takes a lot of planning and thought during the initial setup. Writing a business plan is necessary for your own pruposes. A Proffesional  Business Plan is typically used if you are looking for a way to get outside funding, which is not the case with this business.

However, it is very important to form a strategy and do some planning if you want your business to be successful.

Motivation is the Key to Success

Your business’s success will not be determined by how well you planned everything from the beginning or how smart you are, it will be determined by your motivation to do whatever it is that your business is all about.

If you don’t really enjoy your job, all that motivation will slowly (but surely) fade away. Another thing that you need to think about is whether or not you need some kind of help in order to be successful.

A Lot of Decisions

When it comes to this business, there will be a lot of decisions that you will need to make on a daily basis.

Even the smallest decisions are important, so make sure to keep that in mind at all times. Being able to make decisions in a short amount of time is something that is very important in this business. Also, make sure to market your services. People can’t just know that you exist until you let them know.

Go-To Market

Heading to market can be scary but if you believe in your service and the quality of your work, then all those ears are out of place.

Create a go-to market strategy and get put there and drive business. Decide how you will gain new clients. You may decide on a push strategy which will push your message out to the masses. Or a Pull strategy which will let new clients pull yo uto them. In a Push strategy you might go knock on doors and hand out fliers or send a mass mailing or e-mail blast. While in a Pull strategy you might rely on word of mouth and strategic partners blogging, social media and the like to pull you into conversations.

Either way it takes massive action to make any business work, so buckle up.
